Zamfara state Commissioner of Police, CP Ayuba N. Elkana has commenced tour of locations in the state where the police personnel are deployed to control banditry and other criminal activities.
In a statement, the Public Relations of the state police command, SP Mohammed Shehu said, the tour was part of effort to strengthen the operational capacity of Police Tactical operatives participating in different operations across the state.
Shehu said, “Today being 10th November, 2021, the Commissioner of Police Zamfara State Command CP Ayuba N. Elkanah psc+ commenced an Operational Tour of Inspection to locations where Police Tactical operatives attached to Operation Puff Adder were deployed along Gusau – Mayanci – Maradun – Talata Mafara and Bakura axis”.
“The purpose of the visit was to assess their operational capacity and make appropriate adjustments that will enhance their operational efficiency”. said Shehu.
Shehu added that, during the operational visit, the Commissioner charged the operatives to be professionally alive to their responsibility.”
”He further urged them to take their personal safety very paramount so that members of the communities can be adequately protected against the activities of recalcitrant bandits and other criminal elements”. Said Shehu
The Commissioner, while commending the commitment and resilience of the Operatives, enjoined them to always remain good ambassadors of the Nigeria Police, through hard work and dedication to duty, and also improve their working synergy with other security agencies and host communities.
Shehu further added that, “The Commissioner assured the personnel that the Inspector General of Police IGP Alkali Usman Baba was aware of their commitment in the ongoing Operations against criminal elements”.
“He called on them to sustain the tempo, adding that, “the IGP and his management team are working tirelessly to improve your welfare”.”The CP warned them against unprofessional conduct”.
Acccording to Shehu, the Commissioner has visited some critical stakeholders such as Emirs of Maradun, Bakura and Talata-Mafara while on the operational tour.
Shehu maintained that, the idea was to stregthen the existing collaboration with Police Partners in crime management and control, so that the ongoing effort to rid the State of all activities of criminal elements can be achieved.
“The Operational Tour of Inspection will be replicated to other locations in the state”. Concluded Shehu.
