NSCDC arrest 14 year old boy for banditry in Zamfara — confesses of raping kidnapped women

The Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corp (NSCDC) Zamfara state Command has arrested a 14-year old Sani Suleiman for alleged banditry.


In a press release, the spokesperson of the command, DSC Ikor Oche said, Suleiman who hailed from kadage village of Zurmi local government area of the state was arrested by the men of NSCDC on patrol on February 7, 2022 at about 1am at Samaru Area Gusau.

Oche said he was brought to the state Headquarters in Gusau for investigations where it was discovered that he was trained by a bandit kingpin on weapons handling.


“The investigation revealed that he was trained by one bandits kingpin Salihu at Sububu forest on weapon handling”. 


“He confessed to have participated in cattle rustling and kidnapping activities”.

“The teenager also confessed that he raped women who were kidnapped and brought to their custody”.


Oche said, “Investigations is still on and once it is concluded, the corps will do the needful”. 

He called on parents to be vigilant on their children in order to avert this kind of bad attitude among teenagers.
