A phlantropist and Peoples Democratic Party ( PDP) chieftain in zamfara state Alhaji Isiyaka Ajiyan Anka has distributed cash assistance to 1500 orphans and less privileged persons in the state.
The cash assistance was under Ajiyan Anka foundation who consitituted a committee that selected 10 people from 127 polling unit across the Anka emirate in the state.
The Chairman of the foundation Alhaji Isiyaka Ajiyan Anka who spoke in Gusau shortly after his return from Anka where he formally presented cash assistance to orphans and less previllaged said it was part of the responsibility of wealthy individuals and groups to assist those in need.
“As results of insecurity many people left their homes, abandoned their farmlands which has resulted to the increasing number of orphans due to activities of armed banditry in the state,that was why we deem it’s necessary to assist in this direction”.
He however,revealed that he has accepted called from some groups and individuals to contest for Anka local Government chairman so as to contribute his qoata in the development of the area.
He commended Governor Bello Muhmmad Matawalle for his efforts to implement the peace reconciliation initiative with bandits which resulted to about 80 per cent reduction in criminal activities in the state.
He however advised the state government to redouble efforts in tackling the issue of armed banditry and other crimes in the state.
