The All Progressive Congress (APC) has expressed optimism that it would win the forthcoming House of Assembly by-election to be held in Bakura local government in October 31.
Addressing thousands of APC supporters at a Flagg off campaign in Bakura town today, the APC chairman Alhaji Lawal M Liman said, the party’s candidate, Alhaji Bello Dankande Gamji would emerge victorious, considering his popularity in the local government.
Liman explained that, Dankande was a man of the people who contributed immensely to the development of both Bakura local government and Zamfara state, as such, his chance of winning the forthcoming by-election was just a matter of time.
Liman called on members of the party to be law-abiding during the election, adding that, “You should not do anything that would create chaos or confusion during and after the election”.
He urged members of the party to borrow a leaf from President Muhammadu Buhari’s policy of a kasa, a raka a tsare, ( meaning, “you vote and wait for your votes to be counted”.
Also speaking during the rally, the APC’s candidate, Alhaji Bello Dankande Gamji called on the security agents to remain neutral and provide adequate security during and after the election.
Dankande maintained that, the issue of rigging during the forthcoming by-election by anybody would never be tolerated by APC supporters.
He declared that, APC supporters would conduct themselves in a peaceful manner during the election, warning however that, they would not allow the election to be rigged.
“We will follow all rules and regulations of the electoral acts, and we will defend our votes against riggers” said Dankande.
