From Maiharaji Altine Gusau
The College of Education Maru in Zamfara state has been fully accredited by the National Commission for Colleges of Education ( NCCE).
This was made known by the Provost of the College, Dr. Ibrahim Usman Gusau, while speaking to newsmen in Gusau today.
Dr. Ibrahim said the College runs 23 courses out of which, 20 were fully accredited, while the remaining three courses got an interim accreditation.
According to him, the three courses, English, Hausa and Arabic languages got an interim accreditation following a fire outbreak that razed down the language laboratory.
Also accredited according to the Provost were, the registry, bursary, library, students hostels, estate and ICT centre.
He thanked Governor Bello Matawalle for the unflinching support and assistance he has been rendering to the College which he said had contributed immensely to the success so far recorded.
He also commended both the staff and the supporting staff of the college for their hard work and dedication, urging them to maintain the tempo.
Dr. Ibrahim stressed that, the College could now compete favourably with any Colleges of Education in the country, adding that “the College will soon run degree programs to be affiliated from ABU and Usmanu Danfodiyo Universities.
He called on students throughout the country to enroll in the College in order to benefit from highly the qualified staff.
He also called on well to do to individuals in the state to assist the College particularly on building hostels, borehole etc.
