The Executive Secretary of Zamafara State Contributory Health Management Agency (ZAMCHEMA) Dr. Yusuf Abubakar has described the petition written by Zamfara Circle as baseless and politically sponsored aimed at tarnishing the good efforts of the administration of Governor Bello Matawalle.
An NGO called “Zamfara Circle” has among other things accused the Executive Secretary of diverting the Agency’s funds as well as dominating its activities without involving other staff of the agency.
But in a sharp reaction, Dr. Yusuf said “the petition was sponsored by some disgruntled elements aimed at distabilizing the steady take off of the agency as well as to dent the good image of Governor Bello Matawalle”.
Dr. Yusuf who raised the allegations during a Press Conference in Gusau on Wednesday said some people have openly demonstrated their haterade for the ongoing transformation agenda of Governor Matawalle in the health sector in the state.
According to him the petitioners were not happy with the program because of the assistance given to the poor and wanted to distrupt the whole exercise ọna political ground.
Commenting on the allegation that, he has been diverting the Agency’s funds using his wife’s account at First Bank, Dr. Yusuf said, it was a blatant lie fabricated by the enemies of progress who have failed woefully and didn’t want anybody to succeed.
He Maintained that, he was hurriedly handed over the agency by its past leaders without anything in the account, lamenting that, he had to borrow money in order to carry out some important activities of the agency.
“I wonder where I got the money that I was alleged to have diverted by those enemies of progress”.
Dr. Yusuf said he had never transferred money into his wife’s account, adding that “the account they are referring to at the First Bank didn’t belong to my wife. It belongs to the Agency and anybody who is in doubt should go to the bank to verify”.
He said that he has all documents of all transactions to show to any doubting Thomas who wanted to verify.
He challenged Zamfara Circle to come forward to access the facts of what transpired if they were interested in issues related to the activities of the agency and desist from using one sided information to mislead the general public.
