Fight against banditry collective responsibility- Gen Oyefesobi

The fight against banditry has been described as a collective responsibility that required assistance from all and sundry in order to rid the country of the menace.

Addressing journalists at Super Camp Four in Faskari town in Katsina state today, the Deputy Chief of Defence Intelligence, General Gbolahan Oyefesobi said, “the fight against insurgency and banditry was a collaboration between the army, other relevant agencies as well as the general public”.

 “It involves all security agencies, the army, the police, the Civil Defence Corps and even the civil society Organisations”. 

“We must all join hands together to fight against banditry and other forms of criminal activities”. Said Oyefesobi.

General Oyefesobi stressed that, the Army were doing their possible best to rid the entire country of all forms of criminal activities such as insurgency, banditry, kidnapping and cattle rustling, calling on the general public to assist with useful information on how to crash the criminals.

He Maintained that, Operation Sahel Sanity has yealded positive results, considering the level of achievements recorded since its inauguration some months ago.

“The exercise has yealded positive results as farmers returned to farm, the situation has been stabilized and you can now see the movement of people both during the day time as well as in the night.

He commended General Tukur Buratai for his efforts in the fight against insurgency and also applauded the effort of the military who have been up and doing despite some constraints.
