APC will not contest in re-run election characterised by irregularities–Birnin Magaji

The Zamfara state Chapter of the All Progressive Congress (APC) has withdrawn from the re-run election scheduled to hold tomorrow.

Addressing journalists today, the Publicity Secretary of the party, Alhaji Ibrahim Mohammed Birnin Magaji said APC would not contest for the re-run election that would be characterised by series of irregularities.

He stated that, the people of the state were living witnesses to the fact that, what happened in Bakura last Saturday was enough evidence to prove that, the re-run election slated to hold tomorrow would be characterised by violence.

Birnin Magaji said going by what happened during the last Saturday’s by-election in Bakura, it would be a fruitless efforts for the APC to join the re-run election slated to hold tomorrow.

According to him, the last Saturday’s by-election was the worse election ever held in the state, considering the lukewarm attitude of the security agents who intentionally refused to protect the teeming APC supporters against harassment and intimidation by PDP supporters.

He stressed that the APC would not contest election where the security of lives of its members was not guaranteed.

He accused the INEC officials of romancing with the PDP led Government, lamenting that, “they are not ready to conduct free, fair and credible election.
