From Maiharaji Altine, Gusau
The Zamfara Urban and Regional Planning Board (ZUREPB) written to the former commissioner of education Alhaji Ibrahim Danmaliki Gidan Goga directing hoo to demolish his house along Sokoto bypass road in Gusau town or face forceful demolition.
In a letter written to the former commissioner by the ZUREPB, it was stated that, his house was illegally erected without due process, as such, it must be demolished.
It further added that unless he takes the necessary steps to regularize the permit, the agency will not hesitate to demolish it.
The letter which was signed by the Director Development Control, reads “Reference to our letter dated 24th June 2020 with reference No ZUREPB/TP/DC/VOL1/22 addressed to you through your legal practitioner requesting you to explain why you neglected and violated the existing laws of the board”.
” Similarly for almost (6) months now you didn’t respond to our letter”.
“Based on the above and in compliance with the law establishing this board you are required to remove the erected illegal structure with immediate effect”.
“Failure to comply with this order within reasonable time will induce the authority to swing into further necessary action in accordance with the provision of the law”.
It could be recalled that, Danmaliki, who is an APC stalwart was also detained by the court for allegedly insulting and defaming the character of Governor Bello Matawalle.
He was Governor Matawalle’s political ally and also his Campaign Director General between 2011 and 2013 before he joined the APC.
