As the town hall meeting on 2021 budget entered into the second day, participants have called on Zamfara state Government to place more priority on rural and Urban roads construction.
Most of them who spoke during the meeting held in Bungudu town, the headquarters of Bungudu local government urged both the executive and legislative arms of goverment to embark on both construction and rehabilitation of some roads in the state.
One of the participants, Alhaji Mukhtar Sarkin Rafi said total reconstruction of Gusau Dansadau road was very necessary, considering the delapidated nature and the economic importance of the road.
He maintained that, the road should be reconstructed, stressing that, its rehabilitation would not solve the problem of transportation of the people of the area.
Muktar explained that considering the economic viability of Dansadau area, there was the need for the government to reconstruct the road completely for rapid socioeconomic development of the state.
On the education sector, Alhaji Muktar appealed to the state government to embark on the rehabilitation of Government Secondary Schools Dansadau in order to improve both teaching and learning in the area.
In his presentation, an indigene of Dankurmi town of Maru local government, Alhaji Abdullahi Sulaiman Dankurmi drew the attention of the state government on the need to deploy additional teachers to schools in Dankurmi.
Alhaji Abdullahi also called on the state government to hasten the completion of the abandoned Dankurmi-Bagegga road for the progress of the entire area.

In his response, a Member representing Bungudu West constituency, Honourable Nasiru Lawal Bungudu informed the participants that, the law makers would do everything possible to ensure that the state government execute viable projects in the 2021 budget.
has offered clarification to his constituents that, government does not offer contract to members of state house of assembly instead projects are allocated for the benefit of their constituencies.
He stressed that, as a member of the house hẹ would not relent efforts in ensuring that his people benefited from the budget.
He however explained that as law makers, they don’t execute projects, adding that, they only monitor the projects for proper execution of the job.
Also speaking at the occasion, a member representing Maru north constituency, Honourable Yusuf Alhassan kanoma commended the efforts of Governor Bello Matawalle, stressing however that, the security agents were not helping matters.
Hon. Kanoma maintained that, the security agents must be up and doing if the issue of insecurity challenges should be addressed.
He however assured the participants of the town hall meeting that, members of the State Assembly would work tirelessly with the state government to make sure that the people of the state enjoyed dividend of democracy.

The Director Budget of the Ministry of Budget and Economic Planning, Alhaji Hamza Badarawa who spoke extensively on the 2021 budget said, all the observations made during the meeting would be forwarded to the state government for ratification and amendment.
He stated that, the aim of the meeting was to enable the people of the state to understand what the 2021 budget was all about, adding that, it was the first of its kind since the creation of the state.
