Bandits kill Three, Set Food Items, Animals On Fire In Zamfara Speaker’s Home Hown

Three people lost their lives, more than 300 cattle were rusted, while food items worth millions of naira  were set ablaze by bandits in Magarya village, the home town of the Speaker, Zamfara state House of Assembly, Hon Nasiru Muazu Magarya.


In a press release, the spokesperson of the state House of Assembly, Alhaji Mustafa Jafaru Kaura said “Speaker Nasiru Magarya has led a state government’s delegation to Magarya town to assess the level of damage done to the village”.

The Speaker, according to the press release has sympathised with the people of the area over the  attacks by recalcitrant bandits on Tuesday night. 

The Speaker was conducted round the village by the District Head, Alhaji Muhammadu Sani where he expressed worries over the attacks and pledged to bring the perpetrators of the dastardly act to book.

 The Speaker said, “This cowardly act would not in any way deter Governor Bello Matawalle’s efforts in bringing lasting peace through stick and carrot approach”.

While condoling  with the families of those that lost their lives during the attacks, Speaker Magarya also sympathised with those who lost their animals and food items that were set  ablaze by the bandits. 

 He assured the people of the area of deployment of more troops to beef -up security in the area.

Speaker Magarya further maintained that Governor Matawalle has ordered  the state commissioner of police to deploy more anti riot policemen to complement military’s role in the area, in an efforts to maintain peace and order.
