This followed an allegation by some members of the APC that, Senator Yarima was romancing with the ruling PDP in the state.

Yarima, was in his hometown Bakura for the registration as early as 12 o’clock in the afternoon of last Saturday where he patiently waited for the arrival of the APC registration officers but up to 10 o’clock in the night, they didn’t show up.

Similarly, the officials aslo asked Yarima  to come to his resident in Gusau town where they told him that, they would register him today Sunday, but unfortunately, up to six o’clock in the evening, they refused to attend him.

The exercise which started on the February 13, in the state was chaired by Alhaji Karetu Lawal along with six other members who were given mandate by the National Headquarters of the APC to conduct the exercise across the 14 local government councils beginning with the party’s top ranking members.

All the top ranking APC stalwarts in the state were registered yesterday except former Governor Ahmed Sani Yariman Bakura

In an audio clip that went viral in the social media, a strong APC stalwart from Bakura local government area, Alhaji Bello Dankande Gamji stated that, Yarima would never be given an APC membership card for the role he has been playing for the PDP since 2019.

Gamji said, “Former Governor Ahmed Sani has since in 2019 abandoned the APC and has been romancing with the ruling PDP in Zamfara state”.

Gamji maintained that, there were so many evidences to prove that Yarima has since left APC, citing an example with the recent Bakura House of Assembly by-election where he said, “Yarima donated heavily on the PDP candidate and also silently campaigned for him”.

“We will not allow Yarima to be registered in the APC no matter what will happen and we will resist any pressure from anyone who will try to register him as APC member”. Said Gamji.

Reacting to this, Senator Yarima said he was a bonafide member of the APC, adding that he has never changed his party since he joined politics in 1999.

Yarima stated that he contacted all the relevant stakeholders and authorities to discover the rationale behind the refusal of the committee to register him.

He said that he even spoke with President Muhammadu Buhari and the APC caretaker committee chairman, Alhaji Mai Mala Buni on the issue, stressing that “I will still wait to see the committee’s final action against me”.
