The newly posted Zamfara state Police commissioner, CP Hussain Rabi’u has assumed duty on Friday May 6th, 2021.
An indigene of Niger state, Husaini Rabi’u took over from his predecessor CP Abutu Yaro who was redeployed to Imo state as the commissioner of police.
He was born on 26th March, 1962 in Niger state and attended both primary and secondary schools in Niger state.
He attended University of sokoto where he graduated in 1987 with Bachelor’s degree in Education.
After his successful graduation, he did his National youth service corp (NYSC) in oyo state in the year 1988.
CP Rabi’ u was enlisted into the Nigeria Police Force on 3rd march, 1990 as cadet Assistant Superintendent of Police (C/ASP) where he was professionally trained at the prestigious police Academy kaduna.
After his successful passing out, he was posted to Delta state Police Command where he undergone a one year compulsory attachment for cadet officers, and later served in the following commands/ Formations. Divisional crime officer (DCO) Enere Division, Warri Delta state.
Divisional police officer (DPO) Warri, Delta state command, among other Divisions as DPO.
He was second in command in charge of Zonal CID, Zone 5 Benin city, Edo state.
He was served as Officer in charge of AIG’s Monitoring unit, Zone 5 Benin city, Edo state.

Two times Deputy commissioner of Police Operations , Imo state Police Command, where he was promoted to the rank of Commissioner of Police and posted to Force Headquarters Abuja as CP Explosive Ordinance Device (EOD).
As a seasoned and operationally minded officer, he attended many courses such as, Junior Command Course 36/2001, CSP TO ACP, Promotion Course 2012, and Strategic Leadership Command Course 3/2016 among others.
The new commissioner of police in his introductory speech to the Strategic and tactical commanders of the command, reiterated his determination and commitment to enhance robust policing to actualize the transformation and repositioning agenda of the Inspector General of police.
CP Rabi’u promised to work in collaboration with other security agencies and host communities so that community policing concept of the Nigeria police Force could be greatly achieved.
He solicited for cooperation, collaboration and partnership from members of the public by giving useful and timely information to enable him rid the state of all forms of criminality.
