Zamfara state House of Assembly has expressed disgust over persistent attacks of Magarya, the hometown of Speaker Nasiru Muazu Magarya.

In a statement, the Director General Press Affairs and Public Relations of the house, Mustafa Jafaru Kaura said, the recent attack of the village by bandits was the third of its kind in the last three months.

Mustafa said, “This  is the third time  in the last three months bandicts forced  themselves to the town and caused serious havoc to the locals by killing innocent people burning foodstuffs and rustling of unspecified number of cattles” .

Mustafa explained that, prior to the abduction of the speaker’s father and five others, the bandits had also launched  two separate attacks in the village.

He explained that, “The bandits numbering about 100 stormed in Magarya town in Kanwa District of Zurmi local government and abducted Alhaji Mu’azu Abubakar the village Head of Magarya who is also the biological father to Speaker Zamfara state House of Assembly Rt Hon Nasiru Mu’azu Magarya and five others.

“The ugly incident which happened around 5-6 pm local time yesterday evening saw the terrorist numbering 100 of them carrying sophisticated firearms surrounded the Palace of the District Head firing sporadically on the air and later gained access to the gate of the Palace and whisked him away with five others that were with him in the Palace”.

“Though no live was lost during the incident report had it that the entire house was substantially damaged in the course of gaining entrance into the Palace of the village Head”.

“The villagers were highly terrified by the incident that forced them to  look for safety which also paved way for the terrorists to have a field day”.  Concluded Kaura.
