Insecurity: Zamfara CP Visits Tertiary Institutions, Urges Staff, Students To Be Security Conscious

Zamfara state Commissioner of Police Ayuba N. Elkana has paid unscheduled visits to some tertiary institutions in the state as part of measures to ensure adequate security to both the staff and the students.

In a statement, the spokesperson of the command, SP Mohammed Shehu said, “The purpose of the visit was to assess the existing security arrangements of the schools with a view to adding more strategies that will guarantee the Security and Safety of the students and school communities”.

Shehu said, the visit was also to  create confidence for lecturers and students in order to have a conducive atmosphere for teaching and learning. 

While on the visit, the commissioner urged the staff and students to be security conscious and report early warning signal to the police for timely response.

The schools visited by the Commissioner and his Tactical Commanders were, Federal University Gusau (FUG), Federal College of Education Technical Gusau (FCET), School of Nursing and Midwifry Gusau and Zamfara State College of Arts and Science, Gusau.

“Similar visit will be replicated to other tertiary institutions outside the state capital”. Concluded Shehu.
