The Zamfara state chapter of the All Progressive Congress (APC) is still in troubled waters as Governor Matawalle and Senator Marafa factions conducted pararrel congresses during the local governments congress held on Saturday.

Analyzer news observed that, each of the two factions is claiming ownership of the party, a situation that could tear the party apart as was done in 2019 primary elections.

Speaking to Analyzer news, a spokesperson of Senator Marafa led faction, Alhaji Husaini Dan,isa said, they have conducted their congress with huge success.

“We have successfully conducted our congress where we elected all the executive members of the party for the 14 local government areas of the state”.

“The congress was smooth and Peaceful as it was conducted without any hitch”.

Dan,isa further added that, they have followed the due process in the conduct of the congress, stressing that, “We are the bonnafide members of the party and our congress is the most authentic”.

Speaking to Analyzer news, the Special Adviser to Governor Bello Matawalle on Political Affairs, Alhaji Ibrahim Ma,ajj Gusau said, “I am in the meeting now but our congress is taking place right now in all the 14 local government areas of the state”.

“You may wish to go round and find out for yourself. I will call you back after the meeting,”.

Recall that, the state chapter of the APC had found itself in a similar situation in 2019 primary elections where two factions led by former Governor Yari and Senator Marafa locked horns which resulted serious crises and at the end, the party lost all the seats as a result of the Supreme Court’s decision.
