Judgement: Zamfara Speaker hails judiciary, urges warring factions to embrace dialogue

The Speaker, Zamfara State House of Assembly, Rt. Honourable, Nasiru Muazu Magarya has commended the judiciary over the recent judgement passed by the Federal High Court Gusau regarding the power tussle that rocked the ruling APC in the state for over five months.


In a statement, the spokesperson of the state’s Assembly, Mustafa Jafaru Kaura said, the Speaker was overwhelmed by the recent judgement and saluted the Presiding Judge, Justice Aminu Bappa Aliyu for displaying professionalism before he finally dismissed the case.

The statement reads, “Speaker Magarya saluted the courage, professionalism and decorum of the Presiding judgement, Justice Aminu Bappa Aliyu for  taking the bull by the horn over the last five months listening to both plaintiff and defendants of the case  before arriving at this landmark judgement”.

The Speaker said, “Striking the case by the Judge in yesterday’s ruling was an indication that, the Judiciary in this country is an independent arbiter and the last hope of the common man”.

While congratulating the APC  National chairman of the Caretaker Extraordinary Convention Planning Committee and Yobe state Governor Mai Mala Buni for imaging victorious at the court, Speaker Magarya also congratulated Governor Bello Matawalle and the new state executives of the party.

He  called on the worrying factions of the party to toe the path of peace and embrace dialogue.

The Speaker also urged the warring factions to eschew politics of bitterness and accept the judgement in good faith so as to become one big family of the APC in the state.
