A non governmental organization International Institute of Tropical Agriculture has trained about 100 Youths in Kakaki communities in Zaria local government area of Kaduna state on mechanised farming system.
The Executive Manager of the institute in Nigeria Ms Aline Migusho Disclosed this while handing over grinding machines to the Youths in Kakaki community in Zaria.
Ms Aline Migusho Explained that IITA has the mandate to train the teeming Youths on mechanised system of farming to become self reliant and improve the socio economic development of the communities.
She pointed out that apart from mechanised farming the NGO also trained people on poultry and fishery farming .
The Executive Manager said they supplied Kakaki community with grinding machines to support women in processing and marketing the farm produce.
She charged beneficiaries to utilize the machines so as to achieve the purpose they were made for.
The Secretary Kakaki Progressive Association elders forum, Dr Shehu Na Allah Saidu expressed satisfaction with the IITA for providing machines to his community to improve their well being.
Dr Shehu Saidu stressed the need for IITA to provide more facilities to Kakaki community to achieve the desired objectives.
Also speaking, the chairperson, Kakaki Community women wing, Hajia Jummai Ibrahim assured the IITA that they would use the machine to achieve the aim of the organizers of the training.
Kakaki community, located in Zaria, kaduna state, is one of the luckiest communities that benefited from different NGOS intervention across the country following the commitment and team work of the entire members of community.
