Kebbi State Independent Electoral Commission (KESIEC) has announced the results of last Saturday 5th, local government election.
Announcing the results late evening hours of Monday, the Chairman of the commission Alhaji Aliyu Mohammed Mera Argungu, said the All Progressives Congress (APC) has won all the 21 chairmen positions and the 225 councillorship seats.
According to him the election was conducted under a very free and peaceful atmosphere devoid of any rancour accross the state.
He explained further that 18 political parties indicated interest to participate in the election while 17 participated actively in the exercise.
He thanked the people of the state for their coopration that led to the success of the exercise adding that “I want to thanked all the security agencies, journalists, adhoc staff of the commission and all those that participated in one-way or the order for successful conduct of the election”.
Similarly, the chairman appreciated the kebbi state government efforts for ensuring that only democratically elected chairmen were elected to mind the affairs of the councils for the next two years.
