NSCDC arrest 10 suspected illegal miners in Zamfara, confiscate nine bags of precious stones

The Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps Zamfara State Command has arrested 10 suspected illegal miners from matuzgi village of Talata Mafara local government area of the state.

This was contained in a statement by the spokesperson of the command DSC Ikor Oche and made available to newsmen in Gusau on Thursday.
Oche said the culprits were arrested last Wednesday when they were carrying out the illegal mining in Matuzgi village of Talata-Mafara local government area of the state.
Acccording to him, nine bags of raw precious stones were confiscated from the suspects.

 He said, “The men of the corps raided the illegal mining site early hours of Wednesday 9th February 2022”.

“About nine bags of raw precious stones were confiscated  by the corps special strike force and brought to the command”.
He said that working implements such as shovel, diggers and hammers were also part of the exhibit from the site. 

He warned all those who carried out illegal activities in the mining fields to desist from it, stressing that,  “there is still an  embargo on mining activities in Zamfara State”. 

He therefore reiterated  that anyone cought in the act would face the full wrath of the law.
