Zamfara police command Rescues Three Weeks’ Female Kidnapped Victims

Zamfara Police command has rescued two kidnapped female victims who spent three weeks in bandits’ camp.

This was contained in a statement by the spokesperson of the command SP Mohammed Shehu and made available to Analyzer news on Sunday.


Shehu who spoke on behalf of the police commissioner said, on 20th August, 2022,

Operatives of the the State Police Command while on confidence building patrol along Nya Mango in Bungudu LGA, acted on intelligence report that led to the unconditional rescue of the two female hostages

The two rescued victims

The rescued female victims according to Shehu are, Ubaida Hassan, 12 years old and Umaima Jamilu, 10 years old.

The two victims are indigenes of Gidan Liman village in Kekun Waje district of Bungudu Local government area.


Shehu said, “The victims who were rescued unhurt were abducted by armed bandit/terrorists on 15th July, 2022 following attack on their village”.

“The victims were medically checked at General Hospital Bungudu, thereafter, debriefed by the Police and handed over to their families”


“The Command while reassuring the public of its commitment to the protection of lives and property, congratulated the victims for regaining their freedom”.
