The Federal University Gusau in Zamfara State has expelled seven students of the university for gross misconduct.
Similarly, six other students were rusticated for two seminars.
This followed a meeting held by the governing board of the institution which considered the report and the recommendation forwarded to it by the students’ disciplinary committee.
The affected students were proven to have engaged in various offences that contravened the laws and regulations governing the conducts of students in the University.
In a statement, the public relations Officer of the institution, Malam Umar Usman said the expulsions and rustications were conveyed on 7th July, 2023 by the University’s Acting Academic Secretary, Malam Mu’awiyya Bello on behalf of the Registrar, Malam Yakubu Audu Anibassa.
The affected students according to the statement were Daniel Ibeh Mayowa of the department of Educational Foundation, Habibu Abdul of microbiology, Abdussalam Abubakar of microbiology and Alayande Okamilekan, Educational Foundation.
Others were Lortim Philemon of business administration, Abubakar M. Usman from economics department and James Joseph, businesses administration.
Those resticated included Emmanuel Chibuzor Ejikeme of science education but will not attend the university until after two semesters, Idowu Ojo Oni department of Educational foundation would lose two semesters and Khadija Abdurrahman of plant science and biotechnology, two semesters rustication.
The rest were, Sadiya Sani Garba of plant science and biotechnology, one semester rustication, Balkisu Bello of Plant Science and Biotechnology for one semester rustication and Ibrahim Mu’azu Lawal of Political Science department for one semester rustication.
