AGILE Project: Zamfara SPIU To Construct Modern Classrooms For Girls

The Adolescent Girls Initiative for Learning and Empowerment (AGILE), Zamfara State Project Implementation Unit (SPIU) had conducted a needs assessment in the adolescent girls schools for the commencement of the project in the state.

This was contained in a statement by the Project Communications Officer, AGILE AF Project Zamfara, Bashir Kabiru Ahmad and made available to Analyzer news

The assessment according to Ahmed was aimed at actualising Component 1 of the project which includes construction of new classrooms, rehabilitation of the dilapidated structures, provision of WASH facilities, teaching and learning materials with a view to making the schools functional, safe, inclusive and conducive to teaching and learning.

According to the State Project Coordinator Hajiya Saadatu Abdu Gusau “in the first phase of the project, many schools will benefit from the project through construction of new classrooms and rehabilitation of the dilapidated ones which is stipulated to be completed within six months.”

The assessment conducted by the AGILE AF teams is at the verge of compilation for onward submission to the World Bank”, She added.

The State Coordinator noted that besides Governor Dauda Lawal’s effort towards providing all the requirements for the project, he has further been keen on the upliftment of the adolescent girls education in the state.

She stressed that, Governor Dauda Lawal had in the last month paid a visit to the World Bank Office in Abuja purposely meant for cementing established partnership in AGILE AF Project among others.
