Kebbi State Governor, Comrade Dr Nasir Idris has donated the sum of N10 million to Jama’atu Izalatil Bid’a Wa’iqatis Sunnah (JIBWIS), Jos headquarters, as an assistance towards a successful Ramadan Tafsir.
In a statement the Chief Press Secretary to Governor Nasir Idris, Alhaji Ahmed Idris said, the Governor unveiled the donation during the JIBWIS Jos annual launch for Ramadan Tafsir held at Juma’at Mosque, Unguwar Tsohuwar Mayanka in Birnin Kebbi.
The governor, who was represented by Commissioner for Special Duties, Hon. Zayyanu Umar-Aliero, commended the efforts of JIBWIS Jos for propagating Islam using peaceful means.
He observed that the efforts of the sect was yielding positive results as many people heed to the teachings, practices and lessons leant from the annual Tafsir.
Gov. Idris appreciated Islamic Clerics in the state for their tolerance, understanding as well as determination to project the image of Islam through peaceful manner.
He encouraged them to continue with the good work of educating the general public on basic Islamic tenants in addition to preaching peace and unity amongst the good people of Kebbi State.
In his speech, the leader of JIBWIS Jos, in Kebbi, Sheikh Abdulrahman Isah-Jega appreciated the governor for his tireless efforts to put smile on the faces of good people of Kebbi State.
Isah-Jega encouaraged the governor to keep the flag flying and remain a good ambassador of Islam.
