In an efforts to uncover large sum of money alleged diverted by the defunct Contributory Pension Scheme that lasted for nine years in the state, Zamfara State House of Assembly adhoc committee has resolved to summon some critical stakeholders to appear before it to give their testimonies .
This was made known by the Director General, Press Affairs and Public Relations of the House, Alhaji Mustafa Jafaru kaura in a statement made available to Analyzer news in Gusau.
Jafaru kaura said the chairman of the House adhoc committee on pension founds administrors who also dubbles as Deputy House leader Hon Nasiru Bello lawal Bungudu stated this yesterday at the end of the committee’s meeting held at the Assembly’s complex in Gusau.
Hon Lawal said “their invitation became naccessary in view of the fact that his committee considered them as strategic and therefore heavenly rely on them in getting some vital information that will tremendously assist the committee in getting to the root of the matter’.
Those that will appear according Hon Lawal are the former Heads of Service, Alhaji Muhammad Bello Umar karakkai mni and his successor Alhaji Muhammad Mujtaba Isah mni as well as the Managing Director Royal Rocks Consultants that audited all the eleven pension founds administrors.
Other invitees according to Lawal are both past and present union leaders of the Nigerian labour Congress NLC and it’s counterpart, Trade union Congress TUC that served from 2005 to date.
The lawmaker called on the invitees who he described as imminent personalities in the state to as a matter of respect honor the House invitation on the stated date and time so as not to impede or jeopardize the work of the committee which is a great disservice to the state.
He then aplauded the charismatic efforts of the present Head of Service, Alhaji Kabiru Balarabe for his steadfast in furnishing his committee with all the relevant information required for the committee to commence its assignment with relative ease .
According to the spokesperson of the House, “This is the third consecutive meeting of the committee since its inauguration with sole aim of unraveling the mistery of state workers contributory pension money amounting to billions of naira that was alleged to have been squandered by some few individuals and management of pension founds administrors.
It could be recalled that in one of its plenaries sometime early last month, the Assembly resolved to investigate the state’s workers contributory pension scheme which the present Administration of Governor Bello Matawalle ordered for its outright councillation.
The committee has Hon Salihu Usman Zurmi representing Zurmi East, Hon Ibrahim Muhammad Naidda Gusau 1, and Hon Sani Dahiru Adabka representing Bukkuyum South as members, while Barr Al’yasa’u Muhammad Zayyanu sayyadi Gusau and Hibban Buhari are serve as the Secretariat’s staff of the committee.
Hearing continues on Tuesday the at the Assembly’s complex Gusau with the testimonies from the the people invited .
