Banditry: Zamfara speaker assures his constituency of adequate security

The Speaker, Zamfara State House of Assembly, Alhaji Nasiru Muazu Magarya has assured the People of kaiwa Lamba district of Kanwa ward in Zurmi local government area of adequate protection of their lives and properties at the peak of the level of insecurity in the state. 

This was contained in a statement signed by Director General Press Affairs and Public Relations to the State House of Assembly, Alhaji Mustafa Jafaru kaura and made available to newsmen in Gusau today.

The Speaker, according to the the statement made the assurance yesterday when he paid a sympathy visit to the people of kaiwa Lamba village in Kanwa ward as part of formalisation tour to the people of his constituency affected by banditry attacks.

Magarya maintained that though the spate of attacks was becoming so rampant in many towns and villages of the state, it will not deter the present Administration of Governor Bello Matawalle from facing the challenges of combating the menace of insecurity in the state, 

He said the government and other relevant security agencies in the state have since adopted many security strategies aimed at overpowering the recalcitrant bandits and their informants even if it required the use of maximum force.

While sympathising with the people of the area, the Jarman Moriki praised Allahu  (‘s. a.w.) for his protection that no life  was lost during the the recent attacks and also praised them for not taking laws into their own hands.

The Speaker also used the ocassion to redeeme his earlier pledged of renovating their only Jumu’at mosque which he subsequently lunched yesterday with the sum of N200,000 while the Special Adviser to the Governor on rural water supply, Hon Aliyu Ibrahim Magaji Ajala donated the sum N100,000, while N50,000 came from the House leader, Hon Faruk Musa Dosara. 

In his vote of thanks PDP chairman of the area Alh Salihu  Na Gwandu expressed their profound gratitude and appreciation  to the Speaker for the visit and promised to remain law abiding citizens devoid of causing any rancour in the society. 

The speaker also condoled with a PDP stalwart in the area, Alhaji Yakubu Gidan Oho over the death of his elder Brother late Alhaji Abdullahi Gidan Oho who died recently ,as well as late Hon Abubakar Yahaiya Barkeji. 

He also extended similar condelances to Alhaji Kabiru Isah liyafa  (Dan issan Gusau ) over the death of his biological mother late Hajiya Dela Isah Gusau that also passed away recently. 

Speaker Magarya, on the orders of the state Governor led a powerful state government’s delegation to Maru for  the funeral  prayer of a government driver, late Alhaji Sulaiman Maru who was killed by suspected armed bandits that attacked and killed him on his way to Gusau from Katsina state on official engagement.
