From Maiharaji Altine, Gusau
The National Provost of the All Progressive Congress (APC) Youths Caucus, Alhaji Bashir Ataka has commended the party’s Caretaker committee under the leadership of Mai Mala Buni for bringing sanity into the party.
Addressing journalists in Gusau, Alhaji Bashir said it became imperative to commend Mai Mala and members of his committee for their untiring efforts in uniting the aggrieved members of the party across the country.
“It is a known fact that, the party was engulfed in so many crises that had resulted into losing some states like Zamfara in the last 2019 general elections”.
“Based on this negative trend, the party’s executives were dissolved which led to the formation of the caretaker committee under Mai Mala Buni”.
Ataka explained that, immediately Mai Mala Buni was sworn in as the caretaker committee chairman, he appointed several sub commitees to reconcile the aggrieved members of the party as well as new registration of party members.
He however berated former Senator Kabiru Garba Marafa for sabotaging the efforts of the committee, lamenting that the Senator was working for PDP-led goverment of Alhaji Bello Matawalle.
“We are not surprised of Kabiru Marafa’s anti-party activities because he is a direct beneficiary of Bello Matawalle’s administration”. Said Ataka.
Ataka explained that, Senator Kabiru Marafa’s loyalists were given juicy appointments in the administration of Governor Bello Matawalle.
“The secretary to the State government, a commissioner in charge of Rural Development and other permanent secretaries are Marafa’s boys”. Ataka explained.
He Maintained that, based on the anti party activities, the state Chapter of the APC has since expelled Senator Marafa, calling on the national Secretariat of the party to stop regarding him as a member of the party.
Ataka reaffirmed his loyalty to former Governor Yari for his efforts in making the APC more stronger both in the state and at the national level.
He called on all party supporters to rally round the former Governor and also exercise patience, concluding that, “the state will soon return to APC”.
