Zamfara police turn down N250.000 bribe, arrest suspected car scratcher

The Zamfara state police command has arrested a notorious car snatcher while refusing to collect the sum of N250.000 from him.

The spokesperson of the command SP Shehu Muhammad Made this known while speaking to newsmen at the command’s Headquarters in Gusau today.

SP Shehu revealed that a team of policemen who were on duty at Tazame village on Gusau-Zaria road arrested the suspected car snatcher, Surajo Ibrahim of Gidan Dare area in Sokoto.

According to Shehu, the suspect was arrested with a Toyota Matrix ashe color with the registration number, ABC 585 AP.
 Shehu said, “The suspect could not provide useful information to the police on duty where he tried to give them the sum of N250.000 in order to escape arrest which has further made the police to suspect him”.

During the investigation, the suspect informed the police that a member of his syndicate called Abdullahi who lived in Abuja was the one that stole the car on November 15 last week, stressing that he was at large.
