An All Progressive Grand Alliance (APGA) stalwart, Alhaji Sani Abdullahi Shinkafi has called on the Military to investigate who was responsible for the deployment of soldiers from Zuru in Kebbi state to destrupt the state Assembly by-election conducted in Bakura constituency last Saturday.
Addressing journalists in his house today, Alhaji Sani said soldiers from Zuru in Kebbi state were in Bakura last Saturday allegedly hired by the APC officials to harass and intimidate PDP members in order to win the election.
Alhaji Sani said “APC imported soldiers from Zuru in Kebbi state to distrupt the whole election process”.
According to him, the problem encountered in Bakura by-election was caused by the imported soldiers who worked very hard to impress those who brought them to the state.
He described the Bakura by-election as the worse ever conducted in the country because of the imported soldiers.
Alhaji Sani Maintained that, a younger brother to former Governor Yari was part of the team who were using the imported soldiers to rig the election through ballot box snatching and stockings.
He also appealed to the commissioner of police to immediately interrogate the former Governor Yari’s aide in the person of Alhaji Sani Garba for his inflammatory statement he made during a meeting with stakeholders today.
“Alhaji Sani Garba otherwise known as Sani General or Sani Protocol has categorically stated that the APC was not ready to go for the re-run election on Wednesday and if the election is not postponed, the APC will send political thugs to disorganise the election”.
“I therefore appeal to the commissioner of police to please do the needful in order to avert possible break of security in the state”.
Sani Abdullahi said all the 14 political parties who participated in the last Saturday’s by-election have agreed to go for the re-run election except the APC, stressing that, they know they could not win without rigging.
He maintained that former Governor Yari has never won election without rigging since 2011, adding that “We now understand how to protect our votes”.
Reacting to the claims that he has joined PDP, Alhaji Sani said he was still in the APGA.
“I am still a member of the APGA, I am only trying to contribute to the development of my state through active participation in the PDP led Goverment in Zamfara state”.
