In an effort to protect the voters in the ongoing supplementary election in Bakura constituency, heavy security were drafted to the area by different security outfits.

Analyzer news gathered that poling units were heavily guarded by the security personnel from the army, mobile police, members of Security and Civil defense Corps, as well as other sister security agencies.

As a result of the heavy security, the conduct of the supplementary election in all the 14 poling units went smoothly as voters were allowed to cast their votes without fear of any intimidation and harassment.

The agents of all political parties, with the exception of the APC who had earlier withdrew from the contest were seen in all the poling units visited.

Despite the withdrawal of the APC from the contest, there were still cases of votes buying where some political parties paid between N2000 to N5000 to each voter
