The Ward Head of Igala Quarters and Environs Damba in Gusau local Government area of Zamfara state, Alhaji Mansur Nakura has commended the Minister of Humanitarian Affairs, Disaster Management and Social Development, Sadiya Umar Farook for introducing welfare packages for the less-priviledged.
Making the commendation yesterday during the ongoing registration of the poor and vulnerable households in his domain, Alhaji Mansur said, “the Minister deserves commendation, considering the positive effect of the program on the lives of the common man in the country.
He stressed that, the program would in no small measure contribute in cushioning the effect of hardship currently being experienced in the country as a result of the coronavirus pandemic.
He therefore urged his subjects who were poor and vulnerable to come out and register with the National Social Safety-Net Coordinating Office, under Zamfara State’s Operations Unit in order to benefit from the program.
The Ward Head who was physically present during the registration exercise in Damba Quarters however warned that only the poor and vulnerable households would be registered.
There was large turnout of people who invaded the area as early as seven o’clock in the morning of last Saturday for the registration.
Analyzer news observed that the registration exercise went smoothly without hitch, although COVID 19 protocol was not was not strictly adhered to.
