A former Governor of Zamfara state, Alhaji Mahmuda Aliyu Shinkafi has commended President Muhammadu Buhari’s efforts in the fight against insecurity challenges facing the country.

He however lamented that some stakeholders were sabotaging the President’s efforts.

Shinkafi who spoke to journalists when he paid a condolence visit to the Emir of Kaura-Namoda whose people were killed in banditry attack said ” There is some sabotage in a group of the stakeholders”.

He said, ” The situation is very dificult to tackle but I am sure what Mr. President is doing I think is enough to tackle the issue of insecurity only that, the number of bandits is too much and we believe that there is some sabotage somewhere”.

Shinkafi insisted that, there was sabotage and so many people were involved, lamenting that, whatever efforts the President was making, it was very dificult to see results.
“Some are not very serious. If you have somebody sabotaging the efforts of the group, it is very difficult to see success”.

He however expressed optimism that with the efforts being put in place by the President, the issue of insecurity would one day become history.

“But we are always praising Mr. President for having much commitment. Despite all the sabotage and difficulties being faced in the revenue generation he is still constant to the security of the country”.

“We are praying that if any loophole which is  identified is taken care of, definitely, God’s willing we will see the end of the security challenges in the country because the President is persistently and always committed to record success”.

The former Governor concluded that, with prayers and commitment, peace would return to the country and people would move freely to do their economic and social activities in a good environment.

Recall that, the convoy of the Emir of Kaura-Namoda in Zamfara state, Alhaji Sanusi Muhammad was attacked few days ago when he was returning to the state from Abuja.
