The Emir of Kaura-Namoda in Zamfara state, Major Sanusi Muhammad (rtd) said the North Senatorial Zone would utilise the employees under the Extended Special Public Works Program to clean the environment.
The Emir who spoke during the flag off of the exercise at his palace said, the workers to be employed within the zone, comprising Kaura-Namoda, Zurmi, Shinkafi Shinkafi and Birnin Magaji local governments would be judiciously used in cleaning the dirty places within the area.
‘ We of the entire zone have decided to use the workers to clean our environment such as, mosques, markets, hospitals, streets and other important places”.
“The Coordinator who is in charge of the program in the state has already brought working materials such as wheel barrows because those who are to be employed from the zone are uneducated ones”.
He Maintained that, there was ardent need for all public places to be cleaned, adding that, it would improve the health condition of the people of the area.
The Emir charged the beneficiaries of the program to be God-fearing in the discharge of their work, stressing that, they would account for every Kobo they collected in the world hereafter.
“I urge you to be dedicated and God fearing and report to your various places of assignment on time and also close on time”.
“You should also use the money you will be paid to empower yourselves so as to achieve the aim of the program.
Speaking earlier, the State coordinator of the program, Engineer Ahmed Garba Yandi told the Emir that, 4000 people would be employed from the zone which comprised of four local governments
According to Yandi, each local government area of the state would get 1000 slots, explaining that the state would have 14, 000 people.
Yandi explained that, each of the beneficiaries would receive N20’000 as allowance in every month for the period of three months.
He Maintained that, 200 persons would serve as supervisors who would monitor the activities of the employed people and report to his office.
He stated that, anybody who was found wanting would have his allowance withheld and be replaced.
