Zamfara State Police have rescued five kidnapped victims, recovered several rustled cows and one stolen vehicle.
In a statement, the spokesperson of the state police command SP Mohammed Shehu said, “On 4th February this year, Police operatives attached to “Operation Puff Adder” led by DPO Kaura Namoda facilitated the unconditional release of five Kidnapped victims”.
“They were abducted behind Namoda Secondary school and Zangon Danbade areas of Kaura Namoda town in the state”.
“All the rescued victims were medically treated and debriefed by the Police and later reunited with their families. “Efforts to apprehend the perpetrators is ongoing”.
Shehu also said, “On 3rd February, 2021, another team of Police operatives attached to “Operation Puff Adder” on market patrol at Nasarawa GODEL in Birnin Magaji LGA received an intelligence report about some cows reasonably suspected to have been stolen somewhere in Maradun LGA”.
“The report was effectively utilised, where eleven the cows were recovered and taken to the State CID in Gusau for discreet investigation and identification of their rightful owners”.
He further explained that’ “On 6th February, 2021, a report was received at Tudun Wada Police station from one Hajiya Zainab Saidu of Gidan Dawa area Gusau that on the same day, she parked her Motor vehicle Honda Accord ash colour with registration number AA 223BKA at opposite Sunny Fast Food, Tudun wada and entered the market”.
“Immediately she entered into t market, some unidentified criminals came and stole the vehicle”.
“The DPO in charge ofTudun wada Police station quickly led Police operatives and perused the criminals, where the Vehicle was abondoned and recovered at Premier Road area, Gusau”.
Shehu said that the suspects fled to unknown destination before the arrival of the Police.
He maintained that discreet investigation was being carried out by the State CID Gusau with a view to arresting the suspects and charge them to court for prosecution.
The Commissioner of Police, Alhaji Abutu Yaro commended the officers and men of the three Divisions for the wonderful achievement, calling on other Divisions and Formations to emulate them and work hard towards ensuring peace and safety of Zamfara State.
