All Special Advisers in Zamfara state who are not members of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) have been given five-day ultimatum to either join PDP or vacate their positions.
The ultimatum was given by the Zamfara State’s Special Advisers Forum during its meeting in Gusau, the state capital today.

Addressing a press conference after the meeting, the chairman of the forum, Alhaji Ibrahim Ma,aji said, “Any Special Adviser who is not a member of the ruling PDP in the state must either join the party or relinquish his position”.

Ma,aji explained that, “You can’t be a member of two political parties at the same time, as such, we are calling on those who are yet to decamp to our party ((PDP) to quickly resign on or before Friday this week”.

Ma,aji who is also the Special Adviser to Governor Bello Matawalle on Political Affairs said he would personally meet and discuss with those Special Advisers who didn’t belong to the PDP to hear from them if they were ready to comply with the directive.

He maintained that, it would not be proper to allow people who were not PDP members to continue holding their positions as Advisers to Governor Bello Matawalle who belonged to PDP.

“We are not comfortable with them, so we are calling on them to change their minds and join the PDP so that we will move together and help Governor Matawalle in his efforts to move our state forward”.

Ma,aji commended Governor Matawalle’s leadership qualities of giving appointments to the opposition, lamenting however that, some of them were not assisting the Governor to achieve the desired results.

He commended Governor Matawalle’s efforts in tackling the insecurity challenges in the state, expressing optimism that, “the issue of banditry would soon be a thing of the past”.
