The Permanent Commissioner, Zamfara State Hajj Commission, Alhaji Sirajo Garba Maikatako has declared that his decision to resign his appointment was as a result of his total loyal to Senator Kabiru Marafa.
Maikatako said following the recent reconciliation of the warring factions of the All Progressive Congress (APC) in the state, he was no more with the state PDP led administration of Governor Bello Matawalle.
Maikatako who was the leader of Senator Marafa’s faction of the APC said “My resignation is to tender my political loyalty to Senator Kabiru Marafa in order to promote the recent reconciliation by the APC stakeholders in the state”.
“My decision is about my commitments to support my political mentor Sen. Marafa to promote peace, unity in our great party, the APC”, Maikatako said.
He described the recent attack on Marafa by the State PDP Secretary, Alhaji Ibrahim Dangaladima on media as unfortunate.
“My expectations to PDP and all political parties in the state is for them to congratulate us as APC members on the recent reconciliation achieved by our great party.
“But to my surprise, some of the PDP leaders embarked on attacking our leaders on social media, making hate speeches against them”, he added.
He called on the PDP led government in the state to avoid politics of bitterness and witch-hunting.
Maikatako also called on APC facebookers to avoid blackmail or hate speeches on social media, urging them to give emphasis in promoting peace, love and unity among party members.
“As from today, I am directing you that, you should not react to anybody who accuses Senator Marafa or any chieftain of our great party on social media.
“We should continue to pray to APC leader in the state, Alhaji Abdul’aziz Yari to succeed in his move to contest for the APC National Chairmanship position.
He called on PDP led government in the state to give emphasis on governance not political activities.
“We are calling on Governor Matawalle to concentrate on governance so as to provide meaningful projects to the people of the state.
“We should wait till 2023 before we go into real politics.”. Maikatako explained.
He expressed optimism that the APC would emerge victorious in the 2023 general elections following the recent reconciliation by the stakeholders in the state.
