Zamfara Receives Additional 275 Trained Police Personnel To Re-claim Areas Dominated By Bandits

Zamfara state police command has received additional 275 well trained and equipped police personnel under Operation Puff Adder 11, aimed at reclaiming areas currently dominated by bandits.

Addressing journalists in Gusau today, the commissioner of Police CP Abutu Yaro said, “The, operatives have since arrived the state with combat readiness and motivated agility to complement the existing security arrangements targeted at reclaiming and stabilising the  areas earlier dominated by the recalcitrant bandits and other criminal elements in the state”.

“You may recall that, on Monday 15th February, 2021 the Inspector General of Police flagged off a reinvigorated special action plan in Abuja, code named ‘Operation Puff Adder II’ to reinforce the ongoing fight against banditry, Kidnapping, armed robbery and other violent crimes in the country”.

Sequel to the above, the Inspector General of Police has graciously approved the deployment of Two Hundred and Seventy Five (275) Well trained and equipped Puff Adder Operatives headed by Acp Musa Abdullahi. 

CP Abutu said “in line with the IGP’s Policy directives of the Puff Adder, I want to assure the good people of Zamfara State that, the operations in the State will be intelligence – led and community – driven”.

According to him, the operation would be executed in sustained collaboration with other security agencies so that recalcitrant bandits who refused or neglected to embrace the ongoing peace process could be successfully dislodged from their abodes and deny them opportunity to regroup or freely move about in the state.

”On behalf of officers and men of Zamfara State Police Command, I wish to thank the Inspector General of Police, IGP Mohammed A Adamu NPM mni, for always giving Zamfara State a Special attention in terms of deployment of additional manpower and their welfare”. 

“I also wish to commend the Governor of Zamfara State, Dr. Mohammed Bello Matawalle MON, for demonstrating uncommon strategy of Peace accord in the state”.

He charged the newly posted police personnel to be civil to the law-abiding citizens but firm and ruthless to criminal elements who might want to threaten the safety and security of of people of Zamfara State.

 He  assured them that their welfare would be taken care of to enable them function effectively.

 The Commissioner also called on members of the public to work hand in hand with the Police and other security agencies in the collective task to safeguard the lives  and properties of the communities across the State. 

“The citizenry are enjoined to have abiding faith in governance and our determination to create a safer environment for all the residents of Zamfara State”. Concluded CP Abutu.
