The Zamfara Ministry for Women and Children affairs has Distributed Ankara clothing materials to thousands of Women who participated in weekly preaching as part of sallah gift.
The distribution exercise was held at the Ministry’s premises opposite government lodge Gusau, to commemorate this year’s eid-fitr as organized by the Ministry each year.
In her Remark the State Commissioner of the Ministry Hajiya Zainab Lawal Gummi explained that, this gesture was part of Sallah package which the Ministry used to provide to Women every year since the inception of Governor Bello Muhammad Matawalle’s administration.
The commissioner also said that foodstuffs were given to women across the state to reduce their hardship.
The commissioner said, “We intended to distribute the clouths three days before Sallah, but due to weather conditions we decided to live it as Sallah welfare to the Women that have participated during first Friday weekly preaching”.
” Women are back-bone of development of each society, they need to be assisted, they need to be helped in various aspects of socio economic activities. This will help them to take care of their children”. She said.
She Further said that, the present administration of Governor Matawalle was working tirelessly to empower women for them to become Self reliant and engage themsekves into different small businesses which would help to reduce poverty in the State.
Hajiya Zainab Gummi urged the good people of the State to continue praying for the State in order to have peace and hermony, adding that, “the government is doing it’s best on that direction”.
The Commissioner also called on the parents and guardians across the state to make sure that, they observed and monitor their children in order to avoid been raped, stressing that it was part of the Ministry’s efforts in creating awareness on the danger of rape in the society.
She Commended Governor Bello Matawalle for working tremandously to uplift the standard of living of the people of the State.
During the weekly preaching at the Ministry, Mal Nasiru Bala Bungudu urged wealthy individuals in the state to continue supporting the needy and the less privileged and uphold the good attitudes learnt from the month of Ramadan.
Malam Nasiru emphesized on the need for the parents and guidance to stand up to their responsibilities in training their wards of the good moral and behavior, considering the challenges in the country.
In an interview with one of the beneficiaries, Malama Rabi Yarkari Commended the effort of the Commissioner Hajiya Zainab Lawal Gummi, discribing her as Woman of intergrity, wisdom and courage.
