Governor Bello Masari of Katsina state has called on the Governors of the North- Western region to join hands in order to effectively fight the bandits terrorizing the people of the area.
Masari who was in Gusau, Zamfara state capital to commission Governor Bello Matawalle’s projects expressed concern over the banditry activities in the region, calling on all the Governors in the Northwest zone not to leave Governor Bello Matawalle alone in the fight against banditry.
Masari said, “We shall not leave the fight against banditry to only Governor Bello Matawalle, as all of us have role to play in this direction “.
According to him, the Governors of Kebbi, Katsina, Sokoto, Zamfara and Kaduna have to join hands to face the bandits squarely to save the region from further deterioration.
According to him, the act of banditry was never part of the religion, culture or tradition of the region but an act criminality which ought to be faced with all seriousness and determination.
“It is pertinent to stressed that all hands must to be on deck irrespective of political differences to fight the ugly act of banditry in our society”, he said.
He noted with concern that, alot of damage has been done to the region as people of the region were being identified as bandits in different quoters.
” I want call on all and sundry to bury our differences and mobilise fully to tackle the bandits and save our name and dignity in the country “, he added.
Governor Masari commended Matawalle for his commitment and determination to attain lasting peace in the state and the country at large.
Earlier, Governor Bello Matawalle said the reconstruction of the state house of Assembly was to create enabling environment for the legislature to perform efficiently.
