GOVERNOR MATAWALLE EXPRESSES SHOCK OVER SUDDEN DEATH OF ZAMFARA LAWMAKER

Governor Bello Matawalle of Zamfara state has expressed shock over the sudden death of a member, Zamfara State House of Assembly representing Shinkafi constituency, Hon. Muhammad G. Ahmad.

This was contained in a statement by the Director General Public Enlightenment Media and Communication, Government House Gusau, Alhaji Yusuf Idris.

The Governor according to the statement noted that Honourable Muhammad was with him throughout yesterday in the preparations ahead of his exit from the PDP to the APC.

“The deceased was making his own valuable contributions towards a successful event, not knowing that he was carrying out his final assignments in this world”. Said Matawalle.

The Governor prayed Allah to grant the deceased Jannatul Firdaus and the family, the fortitude to bear the irreparable loss.

Matawalle had also joined hundreds of other mourners for the burrial prayer of the deceased which was held at the Sheik Umar Kanoma Jum’at Mosque along Sokoto by-pass Road, Gusau this morning.

He  also escorted the remains of the deceased to where it was buried at Mussallah Eid Cemetery, Gusau according to the Islamic rites. 

He described late Muhammad G Ahmad as an honest and hardworking person who believed in telling the truth at all time and on any matter.

In his condolence message to the deceased family, Matawalle said his death was a lost to him, his government and the entire state and prayed Almighty Allah to forgive all his shortcomings and give his immediate family the fortitude to bear the loss.

The late Hon. Muhammad G. Ahmad who was Chairman of the House Committee on Appropriation was killed by unknown gunmen who attacked his vehicle near ‘Yankara village of Katsina state while on his way escorting his son to board a flight to Sudan where he is studying.

His funeral prayer was led by the Chief Imam of Abdullahi Fodio Islamic Centre, Sheikh Ahmad Bin Umar Kanoma and was attended by the Former Governors, Senator Ahmad Sani Yarima  and Alhaji Mahmud Aliyu Shinkafi.

Others were the Speaker Zamfara State House Assembly Hon Nasiru Maazu Magarya, Senator Sahabi Ya’u Kaura, Senator Lawali Hassan Dan-Iya and Senator Hassan Muhammad Nasiha.

The rest included former Deputy Governor, Hon Muktar Ahmad Anka, Ambassador Bashir Yuguda Gusau, Alhaji Sani Abdullahi Shinkafi, Hon Aminu Sanin Jaji, former Speaker Zamfara State House of Assembly, Hon Sanusi Garba Rikiji, Acting Secretary to the State Government and Head of Service, Alhaji Kabiru Balarabe and Members of the State House of Assembly among others
