Humanitarian Affairs Minister Distributes Engagement Letters, Devices To Trained Independent Monitors In Zamfara

The Minister for Humanitarian Affairs, Disaster Management and Social Development Hajiya Sadiya Umar Faruq, has reaffirmed President Muhammadu Buhari’s resolve to lift 100 million Nigerians out of poverty during his tenure.
The Minister, who spoke in Gusau, the Zamfara state capital during the distribution of engagement letters and devices to the trained independent monitors said, the President has already introduced lots of programs to that effect.

The Minister said her ministry had already trained 5000  independent monitors across the country who would closely monitor all the programs introduced by President Buhari which were aimed at poverty eradication.
She maintained that, she was in Zamfara in order to present engagement letters and devices to the beneficiaries.

“Today I am here to flag off the distribution of engagement letters and devices for the trained independent monitors in the state”.

She stated that the devices were equipped with an application that would be used to report on monitoring activities of the trained independent monitors.

She told the independent monitors that the devices were locally made in Nigeria while the monitoring application was designed by an indigenous company.

She said that each of the beneficiaries would be given N30, 0000 monthly allowance for a period of one year adding that  each of them has been stationed in his locality to make things easy for him.

She called on the independent monitors to make sure that, they discharge their duties diligently warning that, anybody found wanting would be removed.

She maintained that, her ministry would closely monitor the independent monitors right from Abuja, adding that, she would not hesitate to remove anyone of them found wanting.

Speaking earlier, the Zamfara state Commissioner for Humanitarian Affairs Hajiya Faika M. Ahmed thanked the Honourable Minister and President Muhammadu Buhari for the wonderful program which she described as one of its kind in the country.

She commended the Minister for the efforts she has been making for the people of the state, calling on the beneficiaries to make the best use of the program in order to build themselves.

She advised them to work diligently in order to justify the assistance given to them.

She maintained that the program has impacted positively to the lives of many Nigerians..
