Former Governor of Zamfara state Alhaji Abdul Aziz Yari has lambasted his former political mentor, Senator Ahmed Sani Yariman Bakura for sabotaging APC in the state by sowing seeds of discord within the party.
Yari who addressed thousands of APC supporters in his resident in Talata-Mafara on Friday said Yarima has secretly been planting seeds of discord within the party for a long time, aiming at weakening it both at the national and at the state level.
Yari recalled that Yarima and other ANPP stalwarts had to be given the sum of N1.7 billion before they allowed the APC to be registered as a political party.
“He (Yarima) and others stood their grounds that, they must collect the sum of N1.7 billon from us before they could allow the registration to take place”.
“They were given the sum of N800 million as first installment and I personally settled the remaining balance of N900m. And this man is the person going round the country, telling people that he loves APC more than me”.
Yari also cited example with the recent by-election into Bakura House of Asembly seat where Yarima contributed financially and morally to PDP.
He described Yarima as very cunning personality who was interested in his own progress only, adding that, “That is why he is now dispiced by many of his boys”.
“Most of his boys are no longer with him due to his deceitful manner. I am sure very soon, Matawalle will also fall a victim of his deceit”.
Yari condemned Senator Yarima for trying to kick him out of the party using the national headquarters as well as Governor Matawalle, stressing that as one of its founding fathers of the APC, he would not defect to another party no matter what.
“I know what he (Yarima) has been planning against me in an effort to frustrate me to leave APC but he will not succeed by the grace of God”.
“I was one of the 12 people who founded the APC, I have been actively involved in building it, as such, nobody can frustrate me to leave the party”.
“I know how he (Yarima) has been going up and down in order to sieze the party from me but I am assuring you that he will not succeed”.
Yari stressed that, apart from being a founding father of the party, he also contributed immensely towards the first and second elections of President Muhammadu Buhari.
“I can beat my chest and say that, people will never forget my contribution to the success of President Muhammadu Buhari in winning elections and the development of our great party.
“I want him (Yarima) to explain to the world his contribution to the development of the APC both from the state to the national level”
