The Zamfara state headquarters of the All Progressive Congress (APC) belonging to former Governor Abdul Aziz Yari’s supporters have been vandalised.

The Headquarters which is situated among Sokoto bypass road in Gusau was destroyed on Saturday when the former Governor was having a meeting with APC supporters in his resident in Talata-Mafara.

Properties destroyed included all billboards, doors and windows, while several supporters of the party from Yari camp were wounded.

Addressing journalists over the incident, the chieftain of the party, Alhaji Lawal M. Liman who belongs to the old APC described the action as shear madness and deliberate attempt by some people to cause chaos within the party.

Liman condemned the perpetrators of the act, calling on the security agents to take necessary action against them in order to avert possible break of law and order in the state.

He maintained that, “since Governor Bello Matawalle defected to APC, the issue of whether someone is old or new in the party does not arise”.

“We must stop considering ourselves as political rivals because both matawalle’s and Yari’s loyalists are now one family”.

He however blamed some people that have recently defected to APC who he accused of playing double standard.

“This action must have been committed by some people who have recently joined APC but are still having the PDP in their minds”.

He said that some people have already been arrested in connection with the destruction of the party office, urging the security agents to properly investigate the issue and bring them to book to serve as deterrent to others.
