I WILL NOT REST ON MY OARS UNTIL PEACE IS RESTORED IN ZAMFARA— Matawalle

From Maiharaji Altine Gusau
Governor  Matawalle of Zamfara state said he would not rest on his oars until peace is restored in all parts of the state.

The governor made his position known while delivering his Eid-El-Kabir festival statewide broadcast.

According to him, the administration which inherited a terrible state of insecurity two years ago when it came into effect had employed one of the best options which is peace and dialogue with bandits terrorizing the state, the result of which have earned the state relative peace.

He however noted his awareness of the existence of pockets of unrepentant bandits existing in the state for which he made several trips to President Muhammadu Buhari who listened and ordered for the deployment of more security personnel.

“The security personnel are currently putting their lives in the line to ensure the  return of peace in the state”.

He appreciated the efforts of the security agencies working in the state as well as appreciated the support, prayers and cooperation being extended to his government by the citizens especially through prayers and urged them to continue in this direction.

Matawalle pointed out that his government has kept fate with the people in meeting its campaign promises despite dwindling resources and the threats posed by insecurity by providing dividends of democracy to the electorates.

Similarly, the Governor who recounted the understanding of the state’s civil servants to the government said his approval for the early payment of July salaries mid-month for them to have a hitch-free Sallah celebration was part of his appreciation to them.

While wishing the Muslim Ummah in the state a memorable Sallah, the Governor urged them to reminisce on the virtues the Eid-El-Kabir was prescribed on them and continue to be their brothers’ keepers.
