Gov Matawalle  Assents To Zamfara Local Governments’ Repeal/Re-enactment Laws

Governor Bello Matawalle of Zamfara State has assented to a bill for a law to repeal and re-enact Zamfara State local government laws and for other matters.

This was contained in a statement by the Director General Media, Public Enlightenment and Communications, Government House Gusau, Alhaji Yusuf Idris.

The Governor according to the statement assented to the bills in his office on Sunday.

He  said “The repealed laws would provide good atmosphere for the administration of local government councils in the state”.

“The repealed laws are, local government law 2012 and local government (amendment law) 2015”.

Governor Matawalle said, “Local government administration plays very vital role in bringing more development to the grassroots”.

He explained that only last week, he assented to the local government autonomy law where he assured for transparent and good management of local government resources which will be free from corrupt practices.

The bill was presented to the Governor for assent by the Speaker, Zamfara State House of Assembly, Hon. Nasiru Ma’azu Magarya and the Clark of the House, Shehu Saidu Anka.

The event was attended by the House leader and Chairman House Committee on local governments, Hon. Faruku Dosara, House Chief Whip, Hon. Zaharadeen M. Sada and Deputy Chief Whip, Hon. Ibrahim Mohammed Tela
