Some unidentified gunmen have killed a former councilor of Sankalawa Ward in Bungudu local government area of Zamfara state, Hon. Tukur Hassan.
The deceased was shot and killed in his resident at Sabon gida village 15 kilometers away from Gusau town, the state capital around one o’clock in the night on Thursday.
Narrating the ordeal to Punch, the village head of Sabon gida, Malam Aliyu Babba who is also a blood relation to the deceased councilor said, “The gunmen came in a vehicle and went straight to his house, killed him and left without taking anything”.
According to the village head, the gunmen did not attack anybody in the village including his wives and children, adding that “Immediately they fired shots and killed the ex-councilor, they went away”.
Contacted for comment, the spokesperson of the state police command, SP Mohammed Shehu said, he would investigate into the matter before any comment.
