A Member representing Maru, Bungudu Federal constituency at National Assembly, Alhaji Shehu Ahmad Sarkin Fulani has on Thursday flagged off the training and empowerment of Youth and Women of his constituency on Agricultural Techniques.
The training is in partnership with Fulbe Care Initiative and A.B.A Nigeria limited Zaria aimed at empowering youths and women on modern farming,
Speaking during the flag off, of the training, Hon. Shehu said as member representing Maru and Bungudu Federal Constituency, he has considered security, farming and rearing of animals as important tools for socioeconomic development.
He informed the gathering that, the program would be batch by batch till every beneficiary was trained and empowered.
According to him his representation has given more priority on farming and rearing considering the fact that they have been in existence over hundreds years ago.
“We tried to select people from our two local government areas for a start in the first batch and Insha Allahu we shall continue to select people especially from rural areas”. He said.
He urged the beneficiaries to make proper use of the items given to them, and advised them to avoid all kinds of diversion of the items.
After the training the lawmaker distributed N P K fertilizer, Sprayers, Pesticides Chemicals Niccospring and Vesta mine to the trainees.
In their separate paper presentations, Mallam Abdullahi Nakwada, Abubakar Bello Anka, and Abdurahman Shu’aibu explained how to use pesticides, calibration and maintenance of sprayers, fertilizers and it’s usages, as well as how to store their food after harvest.
In his goodwill message elder Alhaji Maman Dantake commended Shehu Ahmad for his good representation for bringing devidend of democracy to his people.
