Police Rescue Kidnap Victim Denied Food For Six Weeks

Police in Zamfara have rescued a kidnapped victim, Mudassiru Malan who was denied food for six weeks by bandits for failing to pay ransom.


The spokesperson of the police command SP Mohammed Shehu said the bandits refused to give food to the victim for six weeks because his relations could not pay ransom.

Shehu said, the victim was rescued following the ongoing assault on identified bandits’ locations in the state, coupled with an extensive search and rescue operations by the police in collaboration with other security agencies. 


He said, “On 2nd  October , 2021, the Police Tactical Operatives in conjunction with the Vigilante deployed along Maradun Kaura Namoda axis, succeeded in the rescue of one Mudassiru Malan of Sabon garin Rini Village in Bakura LGA”. 

“The victim, who was abducted six weeks ago has been rescued  safely by the Police without any injury sustained by either the victim or the security forces”.
“The Commissioner of Police CP Ayuba N. Elkanah has since handed over the rescued victim to Bakura Local Government Sole Administrator”.


“CP Elkana assured the people of the state that the Police and other security agencies will sustain the ongoing onslaught against the activities of recalcitrant bandits and other criminal elements in the State”.

“The operations will continue until all the other abducted victims who are currently in captivity at various locations are rescued and reunited with their families”. Concluded Shehu.
