Governor Bello Matawalle of Zamfara state has attended the 2021 Commemoration of the International Human Rights Day, that took place at Osun -Lagos Hall Transcorp Hillton Hotel, Abuja last Friday
This was contained in a statement signed by the Director General, Public Enlightenment, Media and Communications, Government House Gusau, Malam Musa Mailafiya and made available to newsmen in Gusau on Saturday.
Acccording to the statement, the Governor who was invited at the occasion as a special guest of honor was represented by his Special Adviser, Hon. Abdullahi M. Maiturare shinkafi.
The statement further added that, Matawalle unveiled the National Action Plan 2022-2026 alongside HE Mary Beth Leonard, US Ambassador, Hon. Mrs Paulen Talen, Minister of Women Affairs and the representative of Hon. Abubakar Malami SAN. Attorney General, Minister of Justice, Dr. Salamatu Hussaini Suleman,
Others at the occasion were the Chairperson, National Human Rights Commission, Mr. Tony Ojukwu SAN and the Executive Secretary, NHRC and other Board Members of the Commission.
The lecture titled, “The Role of International Co-operation in the Promotion and Protection of Human Rights, Post COVID-19, was delivered by Prof. Bola Akinterinwa, former Director General Nigerian institute of International Affairs.
