A Senator representing Zamfara North Senatorial Zone, Senator Sahabi Ya’u has trained 1,500 youths and women in vocational skills acquisition and entrepreneurship development in the four local government areas of the zone.
Speaking during the distribution exercise of the empowerment materials and the commissioning of constituency projects in Kaura-namoda town, Senator Ya,u said the beneficiaries were trained in various skills for them to become self-reliant.
He said, “Through the training, we would make them self reliant and generate wealth and create employment opportunities to our teaming youths and women”.
*This will go a long way in adding value to the credible efforts of Governor matawalle in the provision of sustainable peace, security and development of our dear Zamfara State”.
The empowerment materials distributed by the Senator at the occasion included 45 cars, Motorcycles, 150 Keke Napep tricycles, 50 sewing machines, 150 grinding machines, 180 Laptops, GMS repair tools.
Others are, pump repairs tools, goats and sheep as well as vulcanizing machines, while more items woud be distributed to over 1000 persons in due course.
As part of his constituency projects in health care delivery, he said he provided medical equipments and supplies to Primary Health Care centers in all the four Local Government Areas in the zone and also renovated Kaura-namoda General hospital.
Senator Ya,u said he has bought and distributed h6000 Mama kits to all the PHCs in the zone.
He stressed that he has provided safe and portable drinking water through the construction of 207 tube wells in Birnin Magaji and Shinkafi Local Governments and constructed 67 Hand pumps and boreholes in the 4 LGAs.
On rural electrification and electricity supply, the Senator said “Solar street lights were installed in – Kaurya Madaro, Kungurki, Sabon Garin Kaura, Emirs palace In Kaura, Makarba, mosques all in Kaura. Also in Nasarawar Godel, Nasarawa Mai Layi in Birnin Magaji and in Zurmi LGA”.
Speaking on rural roads, He said he has constructed Shanawa Shinkafi Road, Store to Mayasa in Zurmi LGA, Nasarawa Godal, Kungirki Road Yankaba Road, Sakajiki bridge and the Gwaiwa To Sakajiki road which were commisssioned by Governor Bello Matawalle.
Senator Ya,u further explained that he has secured employments to large number of unemployed youths within his Zone.
“I have secured and got several number of our youth into various federal Government ministries and agencies where they were gainfully employed into federal Government Civil Service, Army, Police, Immigration, and Civil Defence Corps as well as other MDAS”.
“In terms of social welfare, I have provided welfare support and source of livelihood to many and uncountable members of our party and the society in general”. Concluded Sahabi Ya’u.
Speaking at the occassion the Principal Consultant AMSAG Development and Public Health Consulting Dr. Abdullahi Maiwada said their firm has trained about 1500 Youths, women, farmers in various skills acquisition and entreprenuerial development.
Maiwada said, “Capacity building of our youth in vocational skills will make them self reliant and generate job opportunities and consequently help in reducing the menance of insecurity bedevilling our society”.
“It will also create wealth among our teaming youth population as well sustainable socio economic development’.
He stated that, the projects were implemented through variuos federal govt agencies such as NAPRI- ABU Zaria, NITT Zaria and Federal Polytechnic Kaura Namoda all sponsored by Sen. Sahabi Yau Kaura as part of his constituency projects.
